Construction of 3000 MW wind power plant was approved by Supreme Economic Council in Iran
According to the public relations report of Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA): Dr. Mahmoud Kamani, Deputy Minister of Energy and Head of SATBA, explained the details of the approval for the construction of 3000 MW wind power plants based on the financial resources of Article 12 of the Law on Removing Barriers to Competitive Production. According to this resolution, the power purchase price for investors is determined through tendering process and paid based on the price of foreign currencies. He reminded: according to the previous approvals of the Supreme Economic Council, that rate will not be affected by fluctuation of fossil fuel prices. Dr. Kamani emphasized that according to this resolution, the government’s repayment to the investors of wind power plants is guaranteed for 4,5 years at the price of USD 0.095/kWh. He added: These power plants also can sell their electricity in the green trading board of the energy exchange market and the technical specifications of wind turbines and other equipment of wind power plants would be in accordance with the standards approved by the Ministry of Energy.
