Introduction

Established in 1394 with approval from the Ministry of Interior, Iran Renewable Energy Association operates as a non-governmental organization. Its primary objective is to facilitate the advancement of renewable energy within Iran. Initially, the association advocated for the development of renewable energy, emphasizing economic benefits, knowledge-based business, energy security in production, distribution, and consumption, as well as environmental considerations and passive defense. Over time, due to government support and changing energy supply conditions, renewable energy has transformed from being a mere “choice” to an absolute “necessity” in the minds of policymakers.

The association strives to maintain stability in the core policy trends of renewable energy by engaging with the public and promoting various forms of clean energy in a coordinated manner. Additionally, it aims to create an integrated network that allows activists from all clean energy sectors to participate effectively.
