Starting the construction of 4500 (MW) renewable power plant in Iran
In this regard Dr. Kamani, the head of Iran’s Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Organization (SATBA), said, In the first step, according to the approval of the Supreme Economic Council, a special and urgent permit was issued for the construction of 4,500 megawatts of solar power plants that the construction period of these power plants is considered before the summer 2024. Also, he added: The remaining 10,500 MW of the 15,000 MW plan will be built with financing through foreign finance after obtaining legal permits.
Dr. Kamani, the Deputy Minister of Energy said: The construction method of this 4,500 MW renewable power plant is through auction mechanism and the maximum price of purchasing electricity will be 7.3 cents per kilowatt hour for 5 years. Also, the contract duration will be 25 years and the first 5 years will be paid from financial resource of saved fuel and the rest of that will depend on the methods that the investor will agree with the Ministry of Energy to inject the electricity to the grid.
He added that the tender will be done after the identification of approved companies via qualitative evaluation of applicants. The financing of these projects will be done with the participation of the National Development Fund and the investors.
